In memory of Lachlan Morrow

By Justin Hannig

For Lachie

On the 21st of May, tragedy forever changed my family. At 13 years old, my youngest step brother took his own life. The damage done by the breakdown of his parents relationship, combined with bullying at school became too much for him to handle. Lachie was an incredibly smart, energetic and caring young man. I was fortunate enough to live with him, his older brother and mother in 2019. A year I now consider, to be the best year of my life. After which I considered Lachlan and his brother Flynn, fully fledged brothers.

The pain in knowing I experienced the same circumstances during adolescence. Has been made more tolerable, remembering the support I was given by Head Space. A service Lachie was also using for support. I have been reminded of how grateful I am, that this service exists and was there for Lachie.

For their efforts, supporting Lachie, myself and many others with their mental health during adolescence. I ask for your assistance in donating to the Head Space branch in my home town of Albany, as a way of saying Thank You.
